Greenhouse Design · Build · Control

Every Parameter of the Greenhouse,
Designed and Controlled.

Light, temperature, humidity, water, nutrition, gases and protection. We build the structure, make the lights and irrigation controllers, write the growth protocol and run it all from one control system.

Our Own Hardware, End to End

We do not assemble catalogue parts around a brand. The parts that decide crop outcomes are designed by us, so they fit the crop, the climate and the control software.

Grow lights

Horticultural LED fixtures with tunable spectrum, dimming and photoperiod control, specified per crop and canopy height.

Irrigation & sprinkler control

Valve manifolds, zone controllers, flow and pressure sensing, mist and fog lines, programmed from one screen.

Climate & sensor nodes

Temperature, humidity, light, CO₂ and substrate nodes with local control and safe states.

Dosing & fertigation

Stock tanks, injectors and EC/pH control for stage-specific nutrient recipes, advisory first.

Every element is curated for your project: nothing is a fixed kit, and each part can be specified, tuned or swapped for your site.

Physical Parameters

For each one: what it does to the plant, what we design and control, and the hardware and software that do it.

Light

Drives photosynthesis, morphology and flowering time.

What we design and controlDaily light integral (DLI) and PPFD at canopy level; spectrum (blue, red, far-red, white) and photoperiod per growth stage; supplemental light plus shade and blackout screens.

Our hardware & softwareOur own LED grow lights: spectrum-tunable, dimmable, designed for horticulture heat and moisture, with drivers and fixtures matched to canopy height. Controlled by lighting plans in the software, with a hard daily maximum.

Temperature

Sets metabolic rate, development speed and stress.

What we design and controlDay and night set-points, differential (DIF) strategy, root-zone temperature, heat and cold protection.

Our hardware & softwareOur own climate nodes with calibrated probes; vent, fan, heater, pad and screen actuators driven by PID loops with safe states if a sensor fails.

Humidity & VPD

Controls transpiration, nutrient flow and disease pressure.

What we design and controlRelative humidity and vapour pressure deficit (VPD) targets per stage; fogging, misting and dehumidification strategy.

Our hardware & softwareOur own fog and mist controller and humidity control logic, with condensation and disease-risk alerts in the software.

Air movement & ventilation

Evens out temperature and humidity and strengthens stems.

What we design and controlAir-exchange rate, horizontal airflow, vent geometry and insect-proof netting.

Our hardware & softwareFan and vent controllers sized to the structure; wind and rain interlocks that close vents automatically.

Water & irrigation

The most common cause of crop loss when it is inconsistent.

What we design and controlSprinkler, drip, mist and fogging zones; scheduling by time, radiation or substrate moisture; flow, pressure and volume budgets.

Our hardware & softwareOur own end-to-end sprinkler and irrigation control system: valve manifolds, controllers, flow meters and pressure sensing, programmed from the software with leak and dry-run protection.

Root zone & substrate

Roots decide how the plant uses water and nutrients.

What we design and controlSubstrate type and structure, moisture, electrical conductivity (EC), temperature and drainage fraction.

Our hardware & softwareOur own substrate sensor nodes feeding moisture-triggered irrigation and run-off tracking.

CO₂

A limiting input in closed, well-lit crops.

What we design and controlAmbient tracking, enrichment targets during photosynthetic hours, ventilation conflicts.

Our hardware & softwareCO₂ sensing and enrichment control with a hard ceiling interlock that stays active even if a software module lapses.

Structure & cover

Everything else works on top of it.

What we design and controlOrientation, span and gutter height, wind and rain load, cover film or polycarbonate and its light diffusion, anti-drip and UV properties, floor and drainage.

Our hardware & softwareDesign drawings and bill of quantities; sensor and actuator positions planned with the structure, not retrofitted.

Power & resilience

A greenhouse is a living system that cannot wait for the grid.

What we design and controlLoad calculation, backup power, solar integration, load-shedding priority.

Our hardware & softwarePower and outage management in the software: non-essential loads are shed first, and cooling, ventilation and heating are never shed.

Chemical Parameters

What the plant takes up and what the environment carries, measured and managed to the recipe.

Irrigation water quality

Source water analysis: pH, alkalinity, EC, hardness, sodium, chloride, iron, boron; treatment by RO, acid injection, filtration or UV sterilisation to match the crop.

Nutrient solution (fertigation)

Stage-specific recipes for nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulphur and micronutrients; EC and pH targets; stock tanks, injectors and mixing logic. Fertigation starts in advisory mode and only goes automatic after commissioning.

Substrate chemistry

Starting pH and EC, cation-exchange behaviour, buffering and flush strategy; leaching fraction and run-off monitoring.

Dissolved oxygen & root-zone gases

Aeration for hydroponic and substrate systems; oxygen levels and temperature of the nutrient solution.

Plant protection

Integrated pest management: scouting records, biological control, spray records with pre-harvest intervals, and residue-aware schedules.

Sanitation & biosecurity

Footbaths, entry protocols, water and tool disinfection, quarantine of incoming plants, insect exclusion.

Typical Starting Targets

Common horticultural starting points that we refine per crop, variety, climate and cover. They are the beginning of a protocol, not the end of one.

ParameterTypical working rangeNotes
Light (PPFD at canopy)100 – 200 hardening; 200 – 500 leafy and ornamentals; 500 – 1,000 fruiting crops (µmol m⁻² s⁻¹)Set by DLI target and photoperiod
Day / night temperatureAbout 18 – 30 °C day, 15 – 22 °C nightCrop-specific; DIF used to control stem length
Relative humidity60 – 80 %, VPD about 0.6 – 1.2 kPaHigher for hardening and seedlings
CO₂Ambient (about 420 ppm) to 800 – 1,000 ppm enrichedOnly with vents closed and good light
Irrigation waterpH 5.5 – 6.5, low sodium and chlorideAlkalinity treated before dosing
Nutrient solution ECAbout 0.8 – 3.0 mS/cmLower for seedlings and sensitive species, higher in fruiting
Root-zone pH5.5 – 6.5 for most cropsSome species (such as carnivorous plants) need very different media
Substrate moistureCrop and substrate specificMoisture-triggered irrigation after calibration

Ranges are indicative horticultural norms. Your protocol will state the exact values for your crop and stage.

Growth Protocols, Stage by Stage

For every crop we write a stage-wise protocol that sets all parameters together, and the software runs it as a schedule.

Stage 1Establish

Seed, cutting or plantlet arrival, quarantine, first-week conditions

Stage 2Vegetative

Light, temperature and EC set for canopy build-up

Stage 3Generative

Photoperiod, VPD and nutrient shifts for flowering or fruiting

Stage 4Harvest / Finish

Stress management, quality, post-harvest handling

What a protocol contains

  • Light recipe: PPFD, DLI, spectrum and photoperiod per stage
  • Day and night temperature, humidity and VPD targets
  • Irrigation volumes, frequency and triggers
  • Nutrient recipe with EC and pH targets
  • Plant-protection plan and scouting schedule
  • Expected growth rates, yield and quality checkpoints

How it stays honest

  • Every set-point is logged against the sensor reading and the crop outcome
  • Measurements and yield records feed protocol revisions
  • Experiments (bay A against bay B) test changes before they are rolled out
  • Protocols are versioned and licensed to you with training for your growers

Common Questions

Do you build the lights, controllers and software yourselves?

Yes. The lighting, irrigation and climate control hardware is designed by us, and Greenhouse OS is our own software. Each project is curated, so we specify and tune every element to your crops and site.

What happens if the internet or the software stops?

Local controllers hold safe states and keep running programmed limits. Actuators start in advisory mode, and protective interlocks outlive any module subscription.

Can you give us a growth protocol for our crop?

We write stage-wise protocols for light, temperature, humidity, water, nutrition and protection, built from established horticultural science and refined against your own measurements. The questionnaire tells us which crops you plan.

Do you also help with subsidies and approvals?

We prepare the technical documents and drawings that approvals and subsidy applications need, and map which schemes and clearances apply. Applications themselves are coordinated with you and your advisers.

Can you start with one bay and expand?

Yes. We design the first bay with the utilities, control backbone and layout for the full build, so expansion adds bays instead of rework.
