Ethylene Inhibitor
Silver Nitrate (AgNO₃) — 5 g
AgNO₃ inhibits ethylene action in plant tissues — reducing vitrification (hyperhydricity) in banana and orchid Stage II cultures, and improving rooting in recalcitrant species by preventing ethylene-mediated root inhibition.
- ⚗️ Use at 1–5 mg/L in Stage II Musa media to prevent hyperhydricity
- 🌱 Add 1–2 mg/L to rooting medium for recalcitrant woody species
- 📦 5 g · Analytical grade · Light-sensitive — store in amber vial
- 💡 Prepare fresh 10 mg/ml stock · Filter-sterilise · Do not autoclave
