Description

A complete design and commissioning package for founders building a tissue culture lab from the ground up. Phyto Evolution has designed and commissioned TC labs at different scales across South India — this package delivers everything required to move from an empty room to a functioning clean room capable of producing your first uncontaminated explants, without guesswork or repeated costly retrofits.

What is included

• Facility layout drawings: Transfer area, media prep zone, autoclave workflow, acclimatisation space — designed around your actual floor plan
• Equipment specification list: Laminar airflow cabinet (horizontal or vertical, sized to throughput), autoclave capacity, refrigeration, RO-DI water system, pH and analytical balance specifications — with recommended Indian suppliers and realistic current market pricing
• Media formulation library: MS, half-MS, WPM, and species-specific variants pre-calculated for your planned batch sizes (1L, 5L, 10L scales)
• Surface sterilisation protocols: Species-specific explant sterilisation sequences, NaOCl/HgCl2 concentrations and timing, rinsing procedures
• Contamination control SOP: Operator gowning, HEPA maintenance schedule, transfer area decontamination, mother plant screening
• Stage-wise production planner: Establishment to multiplication to rooting to hardening timeline with realistic loss-rate allowances per stage
• One commissioning site visit (within Tamil Nadu; travel costs reimbursed separately for other states)

Scope and pricing

The package is priced on a sliding scale based on lab size, number of target species, and complexity of the species being established. A single-species ornamental lab (one LAF cabinet, one autoclave, 6-10 m2 transfer area) falls toward the lower end of the range. A multi-species medicinal or carnivorous plant operation with custom protocol development and a larger clean room falls toward the upper end.

This package covers design, documentation, and commissioning guidance. Equipment procurement, civil construction, electrical work, and regulatory approvals are the client’s responsibility and are not included in the package price. Timeline from engagement start to first clean explant is typically 3-6 months, depending on construction pace and source material availability.

Payment follows the standard milestone structure: 50% upfront, 25% on delivery of layout and documentation, 25% on commissioning visit completion. Contact us with your floor plan and target species to receive a specific scope and quote.
