🧴 Tween-80 (Polysorbate 80) — non-ionic surfactant with an oleate (C18:1) ester group; preferred in Agrobacterium co-cultivation solutions and for explants with thick waxy cuticles.

💡 Tween-80’s oleate ester makes it slightly more effective than Tween-20 on extremely hydrophobic or wax-covered surfaces (carnivorous plant leaves, cactus, orchid pseudobulbs).
