Sterilisation Aid
Tween-20 (Polysorbate 20) — 500 ml
Tween-20 is an essential surfactant in the TC lab, added to NaOCl sterilisation solutions to improve wetting and penetration of surface-sterilant on waxy explant surfaces (Nepenthes, Vanilla, orchid leaves).
- 💧 Add 1–2 drops per 100ml NaOCl solution for explant sterilisation
- 🌿 Particularly effective for waxy, hairy, or water-repellent surfaces
- 📦 500 ml · Lab grade ≥99% · Viscous liquid
- ⚠️ Rinse thoroughly with 3× sterile distilled water after sterilisation
