Description
𧬠Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6) β a B-vitamin included in MS and most TC media vitamins; the precursor to pyridoxal-5β²-phosphate (PLP), the cofactor for over 140 enzyme reactions including all aminotransferases.

π‘ Why pyridoxine matters in TC
PLP (the active form of B6) is essential for: amino acid biosynthesis and interconversion (all aminotransferases require PLP), ethylene biosynthesis (ACC synthase is PLP-dependent), polyamine synthesis (ornithine decarboxylase), and alkaloid biosynthesis. In rapidly growing callus, aminotransferase demand increases dramatically β exogenous pyridoxine supplementation improves growth and amino acid profiles.
Standard MS inclusion: 0.5 mg/L. Can be increased to 1β5 mg/L for specialised applications (alkaloid production cultures, high-growth suspension).
