💡 Hoagland’s in TC context

Unlike MS, Hoagland’s is a complete hydroponic nutrient solution not specifically optimised for TC. It sees use in TC for: nutrient stress studies, root physiology experiments, transferring in-vitro plants to ex-vitro hydroponic systems, and as a reference standard in mineral nutrition experiments.

🌿 Key differences from MS

• 🔸 Lower ammonium (uses nitrate as primary N source)
• 🔸 No organic components (no inositol, vitamins)
• 🔸 Higher iron in some formulations (chelated Fe)
• 🔸 Variable potassium depending on version

💡 Dilute to ¼–½ strength for deflasked plantlets transitioning from in-vitro to hydroponic culture — full strength can cause osmotic stress on delicate in-vitro roots.
