The Phytolabs Complete TC Lab Design & Setup Package is our comprehensive turnkey service for establishing a fully operational plant tissue culture laboratory from concept to first culture. This package combines expert facility design, equipment procurement support, infrastructure installation supervision, protocol development, staff training, and operational commissioning into a single managed service that gives clients a ready-to-use TC facility without the complexity of coordinating multiple specialised contractors and suppliers independently.

The service begins with an in-depth needs assessment and facility planning phase. Our senior biotechnologists work with the client to define the facility’s purpose (research, commercial propagation, conservation, teaching), target species, desired output capacity, available budget, and timeline. Based on this analysis, we develop a complete facility design: detailed floor plan layouts for media preparation room, autoclave room, laminar flow room, incubation room (growth room), hardening chamber, and support areas; environmental specifications (temperature ranges, humidity control, air filtration requirements); electrical load calculations for incubation lighting and climate control; plumbing specifications for deionised water system and drain capacity; and regulatory compliance requirements for biosafety, chemical storage, and waste management.

Equipment procurement support covers vendor evaluation, technical specification writing, quote comparison, and purchase order supervision for all TC laboratory equipment. Our knowledge of the Indian market for TC equipment ensures that clients avoid common procurement mistakes — particularly the purchase of under-specified Chinese imports that fail to meet laminar air flow cleanliness standards. We provide validated specifications for LAF cabinets (ISO Class 5 air quality), autoclaves (certification requirements for sterilisation validation), and incubation systems (lighting spectra and uniformity requirements) that can be used in competitive tender documents.

Installation and commissioning includes oversight of LAF cabinet and autoclave installation and validation, incubation room environmental commissioning (temperature mapping, lighting uniformity testing), water purification system installation and performance validation, and all other equipment requiring calibration or certification. The facility is commissioned with our standard media preparation SOP, contamination monitoring protocol, and equipment maintenance schedule — operational documents that are handed over to the client and their staff.

Staff training (included in this package) covers media preparation for the client’s target species, explant preparation and surface sterilisation, aseptic transfer techniques, culture maintenance and monitoring, contamination identification and management, and basic troubleshooting. Training is tailored to the target species and protocols relevant to the client’s operations. A 3-month post-commissioning support period is included.
