Lab Setup Consultation — Full Day

Description

A structured consultation engagement for individuals and organisations planning to establish or troubleshoot a tissue culture operation. Consultation is conducted by Phyto Evolution specialists with direct production experience across ornamental, medicinal, and carnivorous plant genera. Sessions are protocol-agnostic — we will work with your target species, existing infrastructure, and constraints rather than selling a generic package.

What a consultation typically covers

• Facility audit: Laminar flow placement, autoclave workflow, transfer area design, HVAC and positive pressure assessment, lighting duration and intensity review
• Species-level assessment: Explant selection, surface sterilisation method, likely contamination pressure based on source material and season
• Media protocol review: Basal medium selection, hormone regime suitability, pH and agar concentration checks, water quality requirements (EC, TDS, RO necessity)
• Contamination diagnosis: Identifying bacterial vs fungal contamination, systemic endophytes in mother plant stock, and facility-level sources (wall surfaces, HEPA filter age, operator technique)
• Stage transitions: Establishment → multiplication → rooting → acclimatisation timeline and loss-rate expectations

Consultation is delivered as a combination of video calls and a written session summary. On-site visits to your facility are available separately and are billed at cost plus a daily fee per our standard fee schedule. A consultation engagement does not constitute a production guarantee — tissue culture outcomes depend substantially on facility conditions, operator consistency, and source material quality, all of which remain under client control.

Before booking, clients are required to complete our pre-engagement discovery questionnaire and execute an NDA. This allows us to review your target species, current stage, and facility constraints before the first session, making the time on call significantly more productive.
